FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: When will the study be completed?

A: Spring 2007

Q: How much does the study cost?

A: $750,000

Q: Why is a study needed?

A: Studies are necessary to ensure adequate data is gathered, proper analyses are performed and all possible alternatives are evaluated to make decisions regarding current and projected problems. They also provide an opportunity for open communication between the public and government officials. The Federal Highway Administration often requires various types of studies be performed before federal funding is used to fund a major highway project. This ensures the money it allocates is being spent in the best possible manner.
